John Leighton, owner of Precision, graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1983. After a few short years of being employed at other photographic studios, he opened a partnership in 1985 on Quinpool Rd.

The concept of Precision Photographic was that people could make their own choices without pressured sales techniques, and we still base our business beliefs around that same practice today.

John has had much experience since the onset of Precision, from working in the studio to photography in the field. From pets to politics, he has photographed it all.

John has been sole owner of Precision since 1993, and keeps changing with times. Offering traditional film, he also provides a full range of digital services.

He has the ability to take control of many situations and create photographic memories of events without slowing down the continuity of the day. John’s easy - going nature, professionalism and efficiency gives him the ability to get the job done right with minimal fuss and time.

Along with running his own business, John also manages to keep up with his family’s hectic competitive sport’s schedule, gets away on family vacations, and fits in when he can, his hobby of sailing.

He owes much of his success to his corporate clients as well as the many families of Halifax that have been using his services from generation to generation for the last two decades.

His love and ability to photograph is reflected in his business success of 20 years on Quinpool Rd. With his business ethics of quality photographs and friendly service, John and his staff plan to be in business for many years to come.
